ABOUT MBA
Mahayana Buddhist Association (MBA) is dedicated to preserving and transmitting the Mahayana Buddhist tradition.
The centre was established in 1989. We are a government registered non-profit-making religious community.
WHAT WE DO...
We provide the best we can with our limited resources and a tight budget the following activities: Programs of Teaching - On a weekly basis, teaching is held twice in the evening by resident teachers - usually geshes of the Gelugpa Tradition we invite from India and Nepal. All and sundry are welcome. Other programs of teaching upon request are also common features.

Teaching And Meditation
We recite the prayer of the steps of the path, the Lam-rim, in order to leave an imprint on our mind of the entire path to
enlightenment; and we meditate on the meaning in order to train the mind in the path. The imprint is the fundamental cause of the realisation of the path, and contemplating the meaning is the actual way of transforming the mind in the way of the path.

Animal Liberation
Liberating Animals is a practical, powerful method to prolong life when an untimely death is threatening to end someone’s life.
Animal liberation does not have to be done only for yourself. You can also dedicate the practice to members of your family and others. You can actually dedicate to all living beings.
It is important to do the practice of liberating animals in the most effective way. The best benefits come from their hearing the recitation of mantras and of the Buddha’s teachings on emptiness, bodhicitta, and tantra, which leaves the imprint in the mind of the animals and ensure that in the future they will receive a human body, meet and practice the Dharma and actualise the path to enlightenment.

Pujas
The purpose of life is to free all sentient beings from suffering and lead them to peerless happiness, enlightenment, the cessation of all obscuration. The happiness of all sentient beings is our responsibility. But, in order to work perfectly for all sentient beings, first we ourselves must reach enlightenment, and in order to do this we need to actualise the steps of the path to enlightenment, starting with guru devotion. All of this is contained in the practice of the Pujas.
